Our Story

Having worked in several Hong Kong kitchens, learning a wide range of Cantonese recipes in the process, we moved to Scotland 30 years ago and set up our Chinese restaurant in Falkirk. The goal has always been the same: to create a casual, friendly environment in which people can enjoy a high standard of homemade Cantonese and oriental cuisine. Our head chef has been here since the beginning, always refining braising, roasting and frying techniques to improve customer experience. He remains in the kitchen every day, ensuring that each dish is up to Taiyuan’s strict standards ahead of being sent out to the customer.

Our Specialties

We take real pride in our roast duck and roast pork, using preparation techniques passed down from previous generations from established restaurants Hong Kong – a city renowned for its famous braising and roasting of birds like duck and geese.

However, if you are vegan or don’t like duck, take note that our most commonly ordered dishes come from the Sichuan and traditional Cantonese sections. These two different cuisines produce an incredible combination of spice, flavour and smell that visitors to our Chinese restaurant in Falkirk have loved for years.
